Your portfolio will never be perfect -- Yeah, I said it, and you’re probably thinking that statement did the opposite of assurance. However, this is something I have had to realize in order to create a portfolio that I am proud of. And how did I come to that realization, you ask? Let's talk about that…

Learning how to take criticism is one of the hardest things artists and designers will learn how to do, so hard that many will avoid it at all costs.

You see, it is not uncommon for us to overcomplicate things; as a matter of fact, I excel at it. Just like this lesson, I am creating a parallel with kissing and providing advice on how not to overthink when creating work. I, for one, find the analogy cute and creative, but I don’t worry; I will get to my point eventually.

Now I get we all can’t Marie Kondo our career, but we can figure out how we can best utilize our God-given talents to provide us with the creative life we never grow tired of.
